East Beach is a one-mile-long pebble and sand beach that is very shallow, ideal for families with children, and when the tide is out the sand stretches out almost as far as you can see it seems. The beach regularly wins the coveted Blue Flag Award and boasts a promenade with adjacent wide greens with a playpark and barbecue facilities, an amusement park, seafront stage, gardens, car parks and the UK’s longest bench running for 1,000 feet along the promenade.
In addition, there are many outlets offering beach goods, fast food and ice cream, plus the famous award-winning East Beach Cafe designed by Thomas Heatherwick.
Please note that dogs are restricted to the area East of Norfolk Road between the 1st of May and the 30th of September.
