The aims and activities of the Littlehampton Society are to stimulate interest in the appearance of Littlehampton, ensure preservation of architectural and historic features, encourage participation in local planning, promote interest in conservation policies, protect and improve amenities. We hold monthly meetings, check weekly planning lists, make representation at local enquiries, report on council meeting and publish a newsletter on local issues. Charity no. 265208

The Friends of Mewsbrook Park primary role is to encourage the participation of the local community in caring for one of Littlehampton’s finest parks. To achieve this we have a small committee which steers the focus of the group and seeks to increase membership. We work closely with Arun District Council’s Parks and Greenspaces Service and Mewsbrook Park Café to ensure the park provides a popular site for relaxation and play whilst being mindful of habitat & heritage conservation and maintaining horticultural standards. The group also raises funds from time-to-time to fund or part-fund various projects in the park which add to the visitor’s experience. We are also keen to see more inclusivity, and have recently joint funded a new accessibility bench for wheelchair users. Our most recent contribution to the park has been a new sculpture. New members are always welcome, and those who have the extra time are encouraged to become committee members to help the group (and therefore local residents) have a voice about the park.
